Description
This new, one-day session focuses on the purpose of independent reading and its benefits for students. Teachers of kindergarten – fifth grade students are encouraged to attend. In this session, participants will learn the advantages of independent reading over sustained silent reading, how to choose “just right” books, and how to utilize reader response journals and logs. Participants will also obtain specific information and resources for collecting and analyzing student data that will help you plan independent reading and writing instruction that meets individual learning needs.
