Description

This new, one-day session will provide participants with activities to improve reading fluency and increase reading comprehension.   Teachers of kindergarten – third grade students are encouraged to attend. Fluency building activities for students will be discussed and modeled using explicit methods for instruction. Methods for monitoring a student’s progress toward the mastery of fluency will be included. This session carries .6 CEUs for teachers or 5 SEMI credits for career level administrators.

Directions:   Take I 10 to Ocean Springs, take exit 50 off I 10 and drive south, go across Hwy. 90 and the road becomes Washington Avenue, drive south on Washington until a three way stop, and take a left or east on Government Street, travel about three miles. Central Office is at intersection of Government and Holcomb Streets. Park in “Visitor” space or un-numbered area.
