| Description |
This new, one-day session is designed for teachers of kindergarten – first grade students. A child’s performance on phonemic awareness skills is a key predictor of his/her future success as a reader. Participants will discover what phonemic awareness is, as well as the difference between phonemic awareness and phonological awareness. They will also learn about the continuum of phonemic awareness and play fun games associated with each skill on this continuum. Participants will explore assessment options for phonemic awareness, as well as how to address individual needs. This session carries .6 CEUs for teachers or 5 SEMI credits for career level administrators. |
